Drabble - Rain

It was going to rain. The big gray clouds told me everything. They didn’t think I was convinced. So heaven sent the chilly wind to blow – to say it was going to rain, to tell me to get off the green grass and go back. I know what heaven was telling me. I don’t listen. An army of droplets came rushing towards me. Go home, child, they say. But it’s better here. Here I’m away from the other orphans, the sweat, the fumes, and the smell of bondage. Being drenched in this rain - temporary freedom - was definitely better.
